Opening Procedures

* When entering building by any entrance door, a security code must be entered to disarm building alarm within 45 seconds. 
* The alarm panel is located to the right of the main entrance door as you enter. 
* Turn on foyer lights, switch is located under the bulletin board in foyer. 
* Unlock second entrance door with key.
* Turn on light switches for the building, located on the wall at the entrance of the circulation area. 
* Turn on light switch to Break Room, located on the left wall behind microwave oven.
* Turn on light switch in supply room, located left of the supply room door. 
* Turn on copier, ON/OFF button is located on right side of copier. 
* Ensure copier is stocked with paper. 

Computers/Printers

Circulation Computers

* Turn Circulation computers ON.
* Enter username(clerk).
* Enter password(*******).
* Press enter.
* Turn on both receipt printers, located beside each circulation computer.
* Turn on central printer, located on the right side beneath circulation desk.

Catalog Computer

* Turn on PAC computer, located on the left side of the Break Room entrance.
* Turn on Child Computer, located on the left side of the Break Room entrance.


Internet Computers

* Turn on all Adult Internet computers.
* All computers are linked to a printer that is located at the circulation desk.
* All printed material should be picked up at the circulation desk.
* Patrons receive $1.00 of free printing. 
* Any prints after the free ones are 10 cents per page for black & white and 50 cents per page for color.

Office Computer

* Turn on office computer, located on the office desk. 
* Turn on computer monitor. 
* Click on Clerk.
* Enter password: xxxxxx.
== Doors == 
* At opening change CLOSED sign to OPEN, sign is located on right side window beside front door.
* The key to unlock the front door is an allen wrench, located on top of the Rolodex box at the circulation desk.
* Press and hold the handle down while turning the allen wrench clockwise. 
== Lights == 

Light Switch Locations

* Left side of main entrance.
* Right side at circulation area.
* Staff break room on left behind microwave oven as you enter.
* Staff restroom on inside left wall at entrance.
* Patron restroom on inside right side of wall at entrance.

== Heating and Air ==  

Thermostats

* There are three thermostats located throughout the library.
* The first thermostat is on the right side at the Exit door.
* A second thermostat is on the left side beside rear Exit door, in the Young Adult section behind YA New Books. 
* The third thermostat is on the left, after you enter the meeting room.
* The thermostat in the meeting room can be accessed by removing the cover with a small key(#20 in the key box). 
* All thermostats have small switches on left side with three settings (heat, cool, off). 
* Temperature should be kept at 72 degrees in summer and 68 degrees in winter. 
      
== Open/Closed Signs == 
* Sign is located on the window on the right side of the front door.
* Sign slides up and down. 
* Up is Closed.
* Down is Open.


== Copier/Fax == 
* The key for the copier is kept in a plastic box labeled Copier Money at the circulation desk.
* Turn on copier, switch is on lower right hand side.
* Fax machine is located at circulation desk by entrance door.
* Faxes can be received or sent.
* Cost of fax is as follows:
$2.00 per page to send (USA)
$1.00 per page to receive 
$6.00 per page to send (Internationally).
== Book Drop == 

The book drop is to be emptied three times per day.

* In the morning about thirty before opening.
* Around midday.
* One hour before closing.
* The book drop opens with a key that is located on the desk in the break room.
* Pull the front door down to check for books that may be stuck.
* Check inside ledge under front door.
* Close and lock door with key.
== Closing Procedures == 

Computer/Printers

Circulation Computers

* To shut down circulation computers go to Control Panel on either circulation computer, click on both Staff 1 and Staff 2.
* Click shut down.
* Turn off both receipt printers located beside each circulation computers.
* Turn off central printer located beneath circulation desk on right side.

Catalog Computer

* Shut down a few minutes before closing.
* Push power button on top left side of monitor.

Internet Computers

* From either circulation computer go to Control Panel, click on each individual computer and then click Shut Down.

Office Computer

* Go to bottom left of computer screen. 
* Click Windows icon then Shut Down.
* Turn off monitor.
* Turn off receipt printer located on the right side of the computer.

Copier

* Turn copier OFF using switch on right side.
* Empty copier money using copier key.
* Count money and enter into Money, Money Lucasville.
* Leave copier door open.

Lights Turn off all lights in these locations:

* Left side of wall at main entrance.
* Patron restroom on the right side of wall as you enter.
* Staff restroom on the left wall as you enter.
* Staff break room on left wall behind microwave oven as you enter.
* At the entrance to the circulation area.

Doors

* At closing time change OPEN sign to CLOSED on right hand side of front door.
* The key to lock the front door is an allen wrench, located on top of the Rolodex box at the circulation desk.
* Insert allen wrench into hole.
* Press and hold the handle down, turn the allen wrench counter clockwise to lock door.

Open/Closed Signs

* Sign is located on the window on the right of the front door.
* Sign slides up and down. 
* Up is Closed.
* Down is Open.

== Bank Procedures == 

The bank deposit should be done before opening every day that we are open.

* The deposit should be taken to US Bank located on US 23 in Lucasville.
* Paperclip yellow bank deposit slip(along with any waived/credit card receipts) to Daily Deposit Report.
* Put into an inter-office envelope and send these to the Deputy Fiscal Officer.

* The key box is located in the Staff Break Room in the corner under the coat rack.

== Panic Button == 
* The panic button is located under the front ledge of the circulation desk.  
* Press and hold for a few seconds if you feel threatened. 
* Tri-State Security will call back authorities will be notified if necessary. 
* The password for Lucasville is RIVER.
== Phones/Voicemail == 

To check phone messages:

* Lift the handset of the telephone. 
* Press the messages button and follow the instructions. 
* The PIN number for Lucasville is: 1612.

Circulation Desk:

* Patron applications-Beneath the return desk above rounds containers.
* Library Cards-In office trays at circulation desk. (extra in top drawer of file cabinet in circulation area).
* Emergency Check Out Sheets-Top drawer of circulation file cabinet labeled accordingly. 

Computer Related:

* Printer Cartridge for color printer-Break Room Closet. 
* Toner Cartridge for copier-Break Room Closet. 

Desk/Office Related:

* Banking Supplies-In money drawer at circulation desk (extras in Break Room file cabinet).
* Receipt Printer Paper-Top drawer of file cabinet in circulation area and Break Room Closet. 
* Telephone Book-Under ledge on return side of circulation desk. 
* Fax Log-Beside Fax Machine. 
* Book Jackets-Break Room Closet. 
* Tape Refills-Break Room Closet. 
* Packing Tape-Break Room Closet.
* Highlighters-With pens and pencils on top of circulation desk and in the Break room Closet.
* Tacks, Paper Clips, Staple Refills-Break room Closet.

Videos/Audios/DVD's

* Cases-Break Room Closet.
