Use of fax machines, photocopiers, and computer printers
Fax Fees
Fax machines have been installed at outlets of Portsmouth Public Library primarily for use within the library system. However, the public may request staff to send or receive on their behalf within the following guidelines.
- Fax machines are available for use during regular hours.
- The charge for sending faxes is $1.00 per page for faxes sent within the United States.
- The charge to send faxes to areas outside the United States is $6.00 per page.
- A charge of $1.00 per page is assessed for faxes received for patrons by Portsmouth Public Library and its branches.
- The library is not responsible for lost or misdirected faxes that have been received on its machines.
Copier Fees
Copy costs shall be $0.10 per page for photocopies and $0.25 per page for copies from the microfilm reader printers. The Library cannot refund monies paid for copies. Copies mailed by the staff have a minimum fee of $1.00 for postage and handling plus the cost of copies.
Printing Fees
The cost for printing from any computer workstation shall be $0.10 per page or $0.20 per double-sided print. Patrons must pay for all pages printed even if they decide they do not want them. Monies pre-paid for printing cannot be refunded. Patrons who refuse to pay for printed pages may have their library privileges restricted or revoked.
Scanning Fees
The copier/printers at each library location allows you to scan photos, documents and books to your USB drive or email address for free. You can scan in full color or black and white; the scanner accepts documents up to 11x17". Please ask a staff member for assistance if needed.
