Opening Procedures

Computers/Printers

Circulation Computers (turn on monitors and enter passwords)

  • Select the CLERK user
  • Enter password (xxxxx)
  • Press enter
  • Turn on both printers on circulation desk. When printers are ready two green lights will be switch on.

Catalog Computer (turn monitor and tower on, enter passwords).

  • The PAC (public access catalog) is connected to the
  • Library’s local area network. The PAC is located with the Child computers.

Internet Computers

  • Turn on towers and monitors.
  • All Adult internet computers are located directly in front of the circ desk, one children’s computer, it is in the juvenile section, to the far right of the main entrance along with two teen internet computers. There is also a child computer located beside the PAC computer.
  • All Internet stations are linked to a printer that is located at the circulation desk.
  • Any printed articles should be picked up at the desk and a charge of 10 cents per page will be assessed for the copies, after the first 10 pages are received for free.

Doors

Front Door

  • In order to unlock the front door remove the allen wrench key from key holder on wall behind circulation desk.
  • Unlock door with master key, each person has their own personal key.
  • Press and hold the door latch open, insert allen key into hole and turn clockwise and release, also use key to unlock handles on the outside of both doors.

Side Staff Door

  • The staff door is to be kept locked at all times. The key to the staff door is the same as the front door key.

Lights

  • Light Switch Locations (all switches listed should be turned on at opening).
  • Next to staff entrance door on right side
  • Left side of main entrance
  • In office on right
  • Patron restrooms, left side for men’s, right side for women’s
  • Staff break room on left as you enter

Heating and Air

Thermostats

  • Five thermostats are located throughout the library. One is on the wall in the adult New Book section and another is on the wall in the non-fiction section. A third is on the wall in the break room to the left of the door. The fourth and fifth thermostats are in the office and meeting room.
  • Three thermostats can be turned to heat or cool by removing the cover with a small key on the wall behind the circulation desk. The thermostats in break room, New book and Non-fiction sections have small switches on top in back of thermostat, they switch to heat, cool or off. Temperature should be kept at 70 degrees. The fourth and fifth thermostats are digital and should be set on 70 degrees as well. The meeting room thermostat has a cover that needs to be unlocked with the key in the top drawer in the circulation desk. Flip the panel down and follow directions on the inside.
