Water shut off valve is in janitor’s room along back wall (alley side) and valve is on left.

HVAC: there are two furnace rooms. One room is for the old section and one room for the old section. The old furnace is in the furnace room down the wall from the break room door. The furnaces are labeled 1, 2 and 3. There are shut off switches on the side of each furnace. Also located in the old furnace room is the electrical room (in the back and on the right side of the room) where the circuit breaker box is located.

Electrical main circuit is the top switch in panel A. If panel is locked, the key is in the key box located in the janitor room.

There are 2 fire extinguishers: one is located on the wall between the break room door and entrance to women’s rest room. This fire extinguisher is unlocked. The second fire extinguisher is located in the furnace room on the left wall and is also unlocked.

Circulation Computers (turn on monitors and enter passwords)

  • Select the CLERK user
  • Enter password (xxxxx)
  • Press enter
  • Turn on both printers on circulation desk. When printers are ready two green lights will be switch on.


Catalog Computer (turn monitor and tower on, enter passwords).

  • The PAC (public access catalog) is connected to the
  • Library’s local area network. The PAC is located with the Child computers.


Internet Computers

  • Turn on towers and monitors.
  • All Adult internet computers are located directly in front of the circ desk, one children’s computer, it is in the juvenile section, to the far right of the main entrance along with two teen internet computers. There is also a child computer located beside the PAC computer.
  • All Internet stations are linked to a printer that is located at the circulation desk.
  • Any printed articles should be picked up at the desk and a charge of 10 cents per page will be assessed for the copies, after the first 10 pages are received for free.

Front Door

  • In order to unlock the front door remove the allen wrench key from key holder on wall behind circulation desk.
  • Unlock door with master key, each person has their own personal key.
  • Press and hold the door latch open, insert allen key into hole and turn clockwise and release, also use key to unlock handles on the outside of both doors.


Side Staff Door

  • The staff door is to be kept locked at all times. The key to the staff door is the same as the front door key.

[edit] Heating and Air

Thermostats

  • Five thermostats are located throughout the library. One is on the wall in the adult New Book section and another is on the wall in the non-fiction section. A third is on the wall in the break room to the left of the door. The fourth and fifth thermostats are in the office and meeting room.
  • Three thermostats can be turned to heat or cool by removing the cover with a small key on the wall behind the circulation desk. The thermostats in break room, New book and Non-fiction sections have small switches on top in back of thermostat, they switch to heat, cool or off. Temperature should be kept at 70 degrees. The fourth and fifth thermostats are digital and should be set on 70 degrees as well. The meeting room thermostat has a cover that needs to be unlocked with the key in the top drawer in the circulation desk. Flip the panel down and follow directions on the inside.

  • Sign is located on the front door.
  • Sign slides up and down. Up is closed, down is open.

  • The key for the copier is on key latch on wall behind the circ desk.
  • Turn on copier. Switch is on right hand side.
  • Make sure copier is stocked with paper.

  • The book drop is to be emptied three times a day.
    • Once before opening.
    • Once around midday
    • One hour before closing.
  • The book drop opens by entering a code. (2 & 4 and then 3)
  • Close door and lock it.
  • Check pull down door for books that may be stuck.

  • Circulation computers go to control panel on either circ computer and click on Staff 1 and Staff 2, then click shut down.

Catalog Computers

  • Push power button on the top left hand side of monitor. Shut it down a few minutes before closing.

GATES Internet Computers

  • Internet computers will go in active at 15 minutes until closing. Go to control panel (on circ computers) click on the computers individually and then click shut down.

  • Next to entrance door on left side.
  • Office light on right side of door.
  • Men’s restroom left side-women’s right side.

  • The bank deposit should be deposited in US Bank, the next block down on left across from the KFC entrance.
  • Paperclip deposit slip from bank onto fine report, put in inter office envelope, and send to Deputy Clerk Treasurer in rounds.
